Gator ETX Soft Roll-Up Truck Bed Tonneau Cover
Our ETX soft roll-up tonneau cover pairs marine-grade vinyl with a powder-coated aluminum frame to deliver cargo security without permanent bed modification. The tri-fold design rolls toward the cab in seconds, giving you full bed access when you need it and weather-sealed protection when you don’t.
We built the ETX for truck owners who need real-world durability without sacrificing convenience. The vinyl skin resists UV fade and repels water at every seam, while the integrated rail clamps install using your existing stake pocket holes—no drilling required. Whether you’re securing tools on a job site or protecting weekend gear, the Gator ETX soft roll-up truck bed tonneau cover keeps your cargo dry and out of sight.
ETX cover specs at a glance

Marine-Grade Vinyl Construction
We spec 24-ounce marine-grade vinyl for the ETX because lighter fabrics crack under sun exposure and split at the folds after repeated rolling. The coated weave sheds rain on contact and resists punctures from sharp cargo edges—critical when you’re hauling lumber, tools, or sporting equipment.
The vinyl stays supple in freezing temps and won’t sag in summer heat. You’ll find the same heavy-duty material on commercial boat covers and industrial tarps, engineered to survive years of outdoor exposure. We stitch every seam with UV-resistant thread and reinforce stress points at the bow and rail clamps. The result is a cover that maintains tension and weather seal through thousands of roll cycles.

No-Drill Clamp Installation
The ETX mounts using reinforced clamps that slide into your truck’s factory stake pocket holes—the same mounting points used by bed dividers and tie-down anchors. You tighten four clamps per side with a standard ratchet, and the cover locks into place without penetrating your bed rails or paint.
Installation takes about 20 minutes with basic hand tools. We include detailed instructions for every major truck model, and the clamp design accommodates both drop-in and spray-on bed liners. If you swap trucks, the hardware unbolts in minutes and reinstalls on your new bed. This reversible approach preserves your truck’s resale value while delivering the same secure hold as drilled systems.
Tri-Fold Roll-Up Access
Full Bed Access in Seconds
The ETX divides into three equal panels that accordion toward the cab when you release the tailgate latches. You can stop at partial roll for mid-bed access or continue rolling to expose the entire cargo area—the integrated bow supports guide the vinyl into neat folds without binding or catching.
We use a hook-and-loop retention system at the forward position to secure the rolled cover behind the cab. The setup eliminates bungee cords and straps, keeping your bed rails clear when the cover is stored. When you’re ready to close up, the panels unfold in reverse order and the tension adjusters let you fine-tune the fit across the bed width. The whole sequence—open to close—takes under a minute once you’ve done it a few times.

Common Questions About the Gator ETX Tonneau Cover
No drilling is required. The ETX uses reinforced clamps that mount into your truck’s existing stake pocket holes—the same threaded inserts used for tie-down anchors and bed dividers. You tighten the clamps with a standard ratchet, and the cover locks securely without penetrating paint or metal. The system is fully reversible, so you can remove the cover and restore your bed to stock condition in minutes.
The ETX is compatible with most spray-on and drop-in bed liners as long as your stake pockets remain accessible. The clamps require at least 1.5 inches of clearance inside each pocket to achieve proper tension. For bed caps and toolboxes, confirm that the accessory doesn’t obstruct the forward bow position when the cover is fully deployed. Our fitment guide includes measurements for common aftermarket combinations.
Wash the ETX with mild soap and water using a soft brush or sponge. Avoid pressure washers aimed directly at seams, as high-pressure spray can force water past the weatherstripping. For stubborn dirt or tree sap, use a vinyl cleaner designed for marine fabrics. We recommend treating the cover with a UV protectant spray twice a year to maintain the fabric’s flexibility and color. The hook-and-loop closures should be brushed clean every few months to remove dust and debris.
We manufacture bed-specific versions of the ETX for Ford F-150, F-250, and F-350; Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500/2500/3500; Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500; Toyota Tundra and Tacoma; and Nissan Titan and Frontier. Each version accounts for variations in bed length, rail height, and stake pocket spacing. When ordering, you’ll select your truck’s make, model, year, and bed size to ensure correct fitment. If your configuration isn’t listed, contact our team for custom-fit options.
The ETX clears most fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitches when the cover is fully closed. The tri-fold panels sit low enough that they don’t contact standard hitch hardware. If you have an above-bed toolbox or a non-standard hitch configuration, measure the clearance between your bed rails and the top of the hitch—the cover requires 3 inches of vertical space when deployed. Rolling the cover forward provides unlimited hitch access for towing.
The ETX includes integrated tension adjusters on both side rails. After installation, you turn the adjustment dials to take up slack and achieve a drum-tight fit across the bed width. The marine-grade vinyl maintains tension in both hot and cold weather, but you may need to fine-tune the adjusters seasonally as the material expands or contracts slightly. A properly tensioned cover sheds water and resists wind flutter at highway speeds.
Each ETX kit includes the pre-assembled tonneau cover with integrated bows, eight rail clamps with mounting hardware, installation instructions, and a tension adjustment key. You’ll need a ratchet or socket wrench to tighten the clamp bolts—no drilling, cutting, or specialized tools required. Most customers complete installation in 20 to 30 minutes. We also include a care guide with maintenance tips and cleaning recommendations.
