Gator SRX Roll-Up Tonneau Cover

★★★★★4.8· thousands of reviews

Our SRX roll-up tonneau cover delivers fast access to your truck bed without sacrificing security or weather protection. The triple-layer vinyl construction resists UV damage and seals against rain, snow, and road spray, while the quick-release roll system lets you expose the full bed in under 10 seconds.

We designed the SRX for drivers who need versatility — haul tall cargo one day, then restore full bed protection the next with a simple latch and roll. The low-profile design preserves fuel economy and fits under most camper shells when rolled forward. Installation takes about 30 minutes with basic hand tools and our included clamp-on rail system.

Materials and construction

The Gator SRX roll-up tonneau cover uses triple-layer 24-oz marine-grade vinyl engineered to handle extreme temperature swings and prolonged UV exposure. We coat each layer with a fade-resistant finish that maintains its matte black appearance after years of sun, and the middle ply adds puncture resistance when branches or cargo corners press against the cover.

Aluminum support bows run perpendicular to the bed rails every 12 inches, distributing tension evenly so the vinyl stays taut even when you’re hauling air. The bow system also prevents sagging in rain or snow — water sheds toward the tailgate instead of pooling in the center. Stainless steel hardware at every mounting point resists rust in coastal climates and winter salt spray.

Installation and bed compatibility
Sizing & fit

Installation and bed compatibility

You can install the SRX on most full-size and mid-size pickups without drilling into your bed rails. Our clamp-on rail system tightens with a hex key and adjusts to fit rail widths from 50 to 73 inches, covering Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, GMC Sierra, and Nissan Titan models from 2005 forward.

The cover sits flush with the bed rail top, so it works alongside most spray-in liners and drop-in mats. If you run a bulkhead toolbox or fifth-wheel hitch, measure your available bed length before ordering — the SRX requires at least 60 inches of unobstructed rail space to mount properly. We include a full drilling template and hardware kit for custom bed configurations that need permanent rail attachment.

Styling

Weather sealing and security

Dual rubber seals run along both side rails and across the tailgate edge, creating overlapping contact zones that block wind-driven rain and highway spray. The front edge tucks under a rain guard behind the cab, so water runs down the vinyl and drains out the tailgate rather than seeping into the bed.

While the SRX prioritizes quick access over maximum security, the buckle latches lock into the side rails with enough tension to deter casual theft. For added protection, we offer an optional tailgate lock kit that prevents release of the main buckles when your truck is parked. The vinyl itself resists knife cuts better than fabric soft covers, but it’s not a substitute for a locking hard cover if you regularly store high-value tools overnight.

Installed in 25 minutes on my Silverado
I was skeptical about the no-drill claim, but the clamps lined up perfectly on my 2019 Silverado. The instructions were clear, and I had it mounted and adjusted in about 25 minutes. It’s been through two rainstorms already and my tools stayed completely dry.

Fast access when I need the full bed
I haul plywood and drywall every week, so I need a cover that doesn’t fight me. The SRX unrolls in seconds and the Velcro strap holds it secure even on the highway. Way easier than my old tri-fold that required removing panels.

Solid cover for the price point
The vinyl feels thicker than I expected for a roll-up, and the bows keep it tight across the bed. I dock one star because the buckles take a little force to latch the first few times, but they’ve loosened up after a month of use.

Works great with my spray-in liner
I was worried the clamps wouldn’t fit over my Rhino liner, but there’s plenty of clearance. The cover sits flush and doesn’t interfere with my tailgate step. Installation was straightforward even working alone.

No leaks after a month of Pacific Northwest rain
We get heavy rain here, and this cover has kept everything dry. The seals do their job, and water drains off the tailgate like it’s supposed to. I also like that it doesn’t add much height to the truck profile.

Good balance of security and convenience
It’s not a locking hard cover, but it keeps casual eyes off my gear and handles weather better than a tarp. I appreciate being able to roll it up without removing the whole thing when I pick up lumber. Would buy again.

Good to know

SRX roll-up tonneau cover questions

No, the SRX installs with a clamp-on rail system that tightens onto your bed rails with a hex key. Most full-size and mid-size trucks from 2005 forward accept the clamps without drilling.

If you have a custom bed configuration or aftermarket rails, we include a drilling template and stainless steel bolts for permanent mounting. The clamp system works with rail widths from 50 to 73 inches.

The triple-layer vinyl and dual-seal design block wind-driven rain and snow effectively. Water sheds toward the tailgate and drains out, so it doesn’t pool on the cover surface.

The aluminum bows maintain tension even under snow load, preventing sagging. We’ve tested the SRX in climates with over 100 inches of annual snowfall, and the seals hold up when you clear snow regularly and avoid ice buildup around the latches.

Yes, you can roll the cover forward to any position and use the integrated tie-down straps to hold it in place. This works well when a ladder or long boards extend past the tailgate but you still want front bed coverage.

The quick-release buckles let you adjust the opening in seconds, and the Velcro storage strap keeps the rolled section secure at highway speeds.

The SRX clamps work with most spray-in liners including Rhino, Line-X, and Bullet Liner. The rail system adjusts for the added thickness, and the cover sits flush with the liner surface.

If you have a drop-in liner with raised rails, measure your rail width before ordering. The SRX accommodates rails up to 73 inches wide, which covers most aftermarket liner designs.

Most customers complete installation in 20 to 40 minutes using basic hand tools. You’ll need a hex key for the rail clamps and a tape measure to center the rails on your bed.

Working alone is possible, but a second person helps align the rails during the initial fit. Our installation video walks through each step, and we include printed instructions with labeled hardware.

The SRX roll-up design gives you full bed access in one motion — release the buckles and roll the cover forward. Tri-fold covers require you to unlatch and fold multiple panels, which takes longer and limits bed access to two-thirds unless you remove panels entirely.

Roll-ups also store more compactly behind the cab when open, leaving your sight lines clear. Tri-folds offer slightly better rigidity when closed, but the SRX’s aluminum bows provide enough support for most cargo needs.

The SRX requires at least 60 inches of unobstructed bed rail length to mount properly. If your fifth-wheel hitch or bulkhead toolbox leaves less space, the cover won’t fit.

Measure from the back of your cab to the front edge of your hitch or toolbox before ordering. Some customers with removable fifth-wheel mounts install the SRX when the hitch is out, then reinstall the hitch for towing trips.
